If you sleep easy and breathe lightly
You feel clean and dry and soft
If green things flourish in every corner of your eye
You count each thing that is your very own
You release all ownership and set down wanting
Look at what you’ve made for yourself!
All cobbled together from things found on the side of the road
or carried in by friends
or watered, earthed, and planted by you
If “alone” is all peace
and for now (just right now)
“lonely” doesn’t visit except on Sundays and at 3am
If your feet feel for once that they are touching the ground
The real, solid ground
And you’re warm when you need to be
And you sleep easy and breathe lightly
You’ll know you’ve made it
